First let me say thank you for stopping by My Purple Scarf. By the way, my name is Jazmin, and just to give you a bit of background information, I am a simple girl, who loves fashion and all things pretty and classic. In 2008, I graduated from Marymount University in Arlington, VA right outside of Washington DC, with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. From a young age I knew I wanted to be apart of the fashion industry, but didn’t know how I would fit in. In my early 20’s I worked for various companies in the fashion industry; coordinating fashion shows, retail management, a stylist at a modeling agency, and a hair stylist.
After a few years of trying to find my place in life, I settled down went to Graduate School to study Communications and got a 9-5 job, that made me feel like my creativity was being stifled, which led me to My Purple Scarf. Purple Scarf allows me to have a single location where I am able to share fashion finds, tricks, and styles I am loving. Being human, we all have different sides to ourselves, and apart from a love for all things fashion, I also love books, Jesus and living an amazing life. It is important to be well rounded to let our inner beauty shine on the outside, so that is where the lifestyle portion of this blog come in.
The goal of this blog is to inspire each person to be unique, after all, we are all fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14) and it is important to embrace being an the person God has made us to be. Individuality makes each of us special in our own way.
I often get asked where I came up with the name My Purple Scarf. I actually didn’t come up with the name, my husband did and it means absolutely nothing… lol!! My favorite color is purple and scarves were my favorite accessory (at the time, I must say now it is jewelry!), so it stuck.
About me, I love long walks on the beach, don’t take myself or fashion to seriously… I think it should be fun and we should have fun with it. Oh and I do really love long walks on the beach and sunsets as well as puppies
