I wore this skirt to work a few weeks back and I shared the look on my Instagram. I’m so excited to share this styled look on here too. I just love this skirt, when I wear it, it makes me feel pretty. Those are the best items don’t you agree?
I found this dress a few weeks ago, and when I saw it I knew I would have gotten so much use out of it. Typically, I have a classic style and I know I’ve talked about my personal style on here before. It’s just so important to know what your personal style is. Finding your personal style will be the best thing for your wardrobe.
After you identify what your style is, you will be able to determine what stores suit your style best. It will help determine if certain items will go with other items in your closet. For example, I love almost everything from Free People, but it doesn’t typically fit into my style. Not to say, I may not have a few things from them, but those are the super cute wild cards.
After you determine what store will work best for your style, shopping will become a breeze. After you build your wardrobe you won’t HAVE to go shopping so often and you will be able to identify where you have gaps in your wardrobe.
In the past, I would have defined my style as preppy. Over the years, I’ve moved away from the preppy ascetic and would consider myself to have more of a classic style. I’ve truly embraced this style simply because I like to have pieces of clothes that will stand the test of time.
One of my favorite style icons is Jackie O… I love her chic yet classic style. When I styled this look, it reminded me of my summers spent sailing. Too bad, I’ve only been sailing in my head, but the look is still super cute.
Normally, I loathe wearing white pants. I never find a pair that is flattering on me. I really wanted a pair a few months back and found these in American Eagle, I did a blog post on them here. After wanting these pants so bad I realized I still can’t wear white pants in the winter. These pants are so comfortable, and because of that I am forcing myself out of my comfort zone and making myself wear these amazing wonderful pants.. All Year Long.
What is one way you are trying to force your self out of your comfort zone?
This is the first new post of 2018! Last week, I took some time off to get myself together. I had to figure out what is going to be on the schedule this year. Now that I am back, I would love to hear about how your new year is so far.
Typically, I try to avoid trendy trends. I have more of a classic style and wearing pieces that can stand the test of time is what I gravitate to. One of my pet peeves is when I have a trendy item that I love but I find that I don’t wear it as often because I know it is out of style. It makes me feel like a looser when I know the look has been laid to rest and I am still rocking it. I know it doesn’t matter and fashion is subjective but I’m honest.
One day I went browsing through TJ Maxx and came across them gem. It looked simple enough and I thought to myself it is inexpensive enough that when I am over there look I won’t feel like I’ve wasted my money. Bold sleeve has been on trend for so long I decided to give it a whirl. I have to say, I have worn this top at least three times before it even made it to the blog. It goes with everything and it is warm on these crazy cold days.
I love shopping at TJ Maxx for a few reasons. First, when you have a little extra time on your hands it is great to get lost looking for all kinds of things you probably don’t need. Second, you can find great things at a great price. What more do you need?
Hi friends, I’ve missed you all so much. I have taken a break while on vacation. I will be sharing my trip with you all in a later post. How was your Thanksgiving? Did you all participate in Black Friday, or Cyber Monday? I did, and I am so excited to share with you all what I purchased 🙂
On to the outfit: I love the concept of having a style uniform. A uniform wouldn’t work for me because I get bored easy, but if I did this would be it! Cardigans and a scarf is the easiest outfit, and you can remake this outfit 100 ways over. All you need is a few scarfs and different color cardigans. It is so simple to pull off, in this post, I’m wearing a long sleeve tee.
Yesterday, I posted about an upcoming trip. Y’all, I am so stressed! I haven’t packed and my flight is Thursday. Why do I do this to myself? I always think I have so much more time than I actually do! My to-do list is getting longer and longer. I still have to make sure I have all my ducks in a row for the blog too. What in the world. Normally, I take the day off prior to a trip to make sure I have everything ready and set to go. I didn’t this time because it is so close to the holidays and I wanted to preserve my leave. Crazy.
Okay, I think that is enough venting now on to a more positive note. When do you all start decorating for Christmas? I watch a lot of youtube and everyone has already started. I am getting tempted to start decorating as well. It is so pretty and I would love start but don’t want to go all out because it is still early. Same thing with shopping for gifts? I am ready to get started and get it out of the way. I love love love wrapping presents.
Can we take a second for these mules! They are the best option when you want to throw something on, but still look put together. I give these a great purchase award! I love an outfit like this because if you don’t know what to wear, a black tank and pants is always a great way to build an outfit.
