Christmas Card Photoshoot

Happy Friday!

I am slightly stressed! I am getting my Christmas Card photos taken this weekend and I didn’t prepare the way I should have. I haven’t done anything to get ready for this shoot, which has given me inspiration on what to share with you all today.

  1. Theme- What do you want to share with your recipients? Do you want to send funny cards or more pretty cards.
  2. Coordinating outfits- I like our outfits to go together, without being too matchy.
  3. Location- Remember this will be the background of your photo.
  4. Timing- Be sure to give yourself time, you still have to create the card and mail them.

Frank and I have been married for a little over year and here is what our very first Christmas Card looked like. One reason or another I didn’t share it on the blog last year. I can’t wait to show you what our card will look like this year.

Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

I am going to give you all my very first recipe post. Are you ready it’s really complicated! Just kidding. Really, I am taking a simple lemonade mixture and adding strawberries. Honestly, with it being so hot, I would feel like a complete failure if I didn’t share with you all what I have been making to quench my thirst.
Here is what you will need:
1 bottle of berry flavored sparkling water
1/2 cup of frozen strawberries (chopped or whole)
4 scoops of lemonade mix
Water
2 quart pitcher

Directions:
Add the entire bottle of sparkling water. Once the fizzing stops add the powdered lemonade mix. When the lemonade mixture is dissolved, add in the strawberries. Fill the rest of the pitcher with water.

I actually use the frozen strawberries for two batches of lemonade. We go through one picture about every two days.
So, how did I do? Are you interested in more recipes on here. I have so many, I cook much more than I lead on 😃

Seek Him Early

Hi Friends,

Recently, I had been on the hunt for a new devotional. I am always on the hunt for something it seems (this is typical for me!). I came across this blog post from Sequins and Things (one of my favorite blogs) and thought I would check it out. I did and loved it.

When I found this book  my Paul David Tripp in Barnes and Noble, I ended up spending a bit of time in the book store reading this book. I love how easy it is to read and understand. It also gives you a book or chapter to think about throughout the day. Proverbs 8:17 says “I love love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me” -NKJVsignature2

Time Management

As you can guess, I have a lot going on and a lot of events coming up in the near future. A wedding, travel plans, and work that never stops. I wanted to share with you all how I manage my time to the best of my abilities. Honestly, I am not the best at managing time but, I would like to think I have been handling my time pretty well, so far things have work out. All and all, I wanted to share with you what I do to keep myself organized.

Write it down: I have noticed that when I write things down I tend to remember things better, even if I don’t go back and read my notes. I am not sure but I think there is some correlation with writing something down and memory, if not, it at least helps me to remember all that I have to do.

Keep a Calendar: Some people prefer to use the calendar on their phone and others like to have a hand written old school calendar. Personally I use both. When I am at work I like to pull up my google calender to see what I have going on. Also this is amazing because my friends send me invites to things we are doing. As far as writing things down, this year I decided to try out the Erin Condren Life Planner.

Commit: I hate commitment, but we all have responsibilities and obligations. I overcome this by telling myself if I write it down then I need to make it happen. This makes me accountable otherwise, I would probably flake on a lot my responsibilities.

Make a to do list: At the beginning of every morning (weekends too) I like to think about what needs to be done for that day and make a list. This can be a list of goals, or just things to do and I make sure by the end of the day I try to the best of my abilities to have all the items checked off.

Free Books

Over the weekend, I visited my public library. Its been quite a while since I’ve been and actually checked out books. Often, I check out books digitally, and read them on my iPad, but this particular day I wanted to waste some time and decided to see what was new in my library. Two hours and one presentation on American History later, I walked out with these books.

Say Goodbye to Survival Mode by Crystal Paine

Lessons from Madame Chic by Jennifer L. Scott

Unglued by Lysa Terkeurst

A Woman’s Secret for Confident Living by Karol Ladd

The Hip Girls Guide to Homemaking by Kate Payne

I strongly suggest you all go check out your local library and see if there is a program you may be interested in, or to just check out a book! It’s Free!!!! Depending on how many books I get through before it’s time to return them. I plan to do some books reviews and let you all know what I think. 🙂

Easy Breasy

Today was a very long day at the office. Most of you know, I have a nine to five and at times it can be rough. To be able to come home, and do something I actually love, is the best medicine. This blog has serves as an outlet for me, and is becoming one of my favorite pastimes. I honestly don’t think of this as a job, it is really the best hobby ever. Okay, I’m done venting, and thanks for listening.

I hope you all had an amazing Independence Day! In honor of one of my favorite holidays, here is some red, white, and blue.

Summertime Bliss!

Hello Lovelies,

Happy Friday to you all! I hope you all have some fun things scheduled for this weekend. Lately, it feels like I have been living for the weekends. I’m sure most of you know I LOVE SUMMER! The last couple of weekends I have been so busy which is a good thing, only because I love being out and about this time of year, walking around the city, and having dinner on restaurant patios.

One thing I love about this outfit is the shirt tied around the waist. I love this trend! It is so efficient. Once the sun goes down, you have something to cover your arms, and for those of us who need to define our waistline, it acts as a belt.

Chilly Days

Lately, the weather has been a chilly. Naturally, I am a cold person and I always have a jacket with me. Just the other night, I celebrated a birthday of a friend, as soon as the sun started to go down, I had to reach for my jacket. On days like those, this dress comes in handy. It is light enough for the hot summer days and will keep you warm during the cooler nights. It’s a perfect go to dress. IMG_0009-2IMG_0010-withfocalblurIMG_0011IMG_0014IMG_9985IMG_9992IMG_9994IMG_9996

Deva Curl

Hi Friends,

If you can’t tell, I have curly hair. If you have ever watched my YouTube  Channel you will find a few tips and tricks I use to keep all this hair under control. Recently, I discovered the Deva Curl line, just to let you know in the beginning of this post… the products are amazing! As of now, these are the only products I’ve used from Deva Curl and yes I love both the One Conditioner and the No Poo Shampoo.

A few months ago I decided to try the line, and I loved it. I went through the travel sized products quicker than I would have liked and never purchased them again. Until now, but this time to got the regular size. This buying this product maybe one of the best hair decisions I have ever made. I really like this line it makes washing your hair so easy. Last night I washed my hair and it took all of 30 minutes, this means I got 15 minutes back into my day!!!

Seriously, if you are in the marked for a new shampoo and conditioner you should try these products. After washing my hair it was so soft and so easy to manage.  Detangling, which is usually a chore was so easy.
