Time Management

As you can guess, I have a lot going on and a lot of events coming up in the near future. A wedding, travel plans, and work that never stops. I wanted to share with you all how I manage my time to the best of my abilities. Honestly, I am not the best at managing time but, I would like to think I have been handling my time pretty well, so far things have work out. All and all, I wanted to share with you what I do to keep myself organized.

Write it down: I have noticed that when I write things down I tend to remember things better, even if I don’t go back and read my notes. I am not sure but I think there is some correlation with writing something down and memory, if not, it at least helps me to remember all that I have to do.

Keep a Calendar: Some people prefer to use the calendar on their phone and others like to have a hand written old school calendar. Personally I use both. When I am at work I like to pull up my google calender to see what I have going on. Also this is amazing because my friends send me invites to things we are doing. As far as writing things down, this year I decided to try out the Erin Condren Life Planner.

Commit: I hate commitment, but we all have responsibilities and obligations. I overcome this by telling myself if I write it down then I need to make it happen. This makes me accountable otherwise, I would probably flake on a lot my responsibilities.

Make a to do list: At the beginning of every morning (weekends too) I like to think about what needs to be done for that day and make a list. This can be a list of goals, or just things to do and I make sure by the end of the day I try to the best of my abilities to have all the items checked off.

Afternoon in the Park

This has been one of my favorite outfits I’ve been wearing this summer. If you can’t tell, I love to wear simple and easy outfits. Even the hair… all I do is wash and braid two simple French braids and I am good for about four days. Short sweet and to the point (just like this post!)

Summer Skin Protection

Good Day Lovilies,

We are about halfway through the summer at this point. One thing I think is really important pertaining to the summer is protecting our skin from the sun. I am a huge skin care junkie; yes, I admit it. The skin is our largest organ and we have to take care of it. We always hear, take care of your skin when you are young or you will regret it later. I live by this motto.

Today I will be sharing with you the sunscreens I use on a daily basis, as well as when I am spending the day outside.

Daily Lotion: In the summer I opt for a lotion with SPF, such as Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion with SPF 15. Just to give me a light layer of protection in my daily activities. I started using this lotion for the first time this summer and I actually like it a lot. In the past couple of years I would used the Neutrogena Beach Defense Sunscreen Spray. After my shower and before my lotion I would spray this all over, then apply lotion, if you want to see all the products I use check out this post. I find using Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion with SPF 15 alone now, which is much easier, just a one stop shop. I still use the Neutrogena Beach Defense Sunscreen Spray, but on top of the Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion with SPF 15, for extra protection.

Face moisturizer: In the summer I increase the SPF for my face, just in case. I wear an SPF year round on my face but in the summer when the sun is closer to the earth, I like to take extra precautions to protect my skin. I have been using the Neutrogena Healthy Defense Moisturizer in SPF 50. I have been using this for about 2 years now, and I always go back to it especially in the summer.

(Bonus)Fashion: When you know you are going to be outside, remember to wear your sunglasses to protect your eyes and don’t forget your hat. Hats are so chic, especially when you wear a cute summer dress! I have a lot of examples on my Pinterest!

I hope you found this useful and you protect yourself while you are out in the heat 🙂

Free Books

Over the weekend, I visited my public library. Its been quite a while since I’ve been and actually checked out books. Often, I check out books digitally, and read them on my iPad, but this particular day I wanted to waste some time and decided to see what was new in my library. Two hours and one presentation on American History later, I walked out with these books.

Say Goodbye to Survival Mode by Crystal Paine

Lessons from Madame Chic by Jennifer L. Scott

Unglued by Lysa Terkeurst

A Woman’s Secret for Confident Living by Karol Ladd

The Hip Girls Guide to Homemaking by Kate Payne

I strongly suggest you all go check out your local library and see if there is a program you may be interested in, or to just check out a book! It’s Free!!!! Depending on how many books I get through before it’s time to return them. I plan to do some books reviews and let you all know what I think. 🙂

Easy Breasy

Today was a very long day at the office. Most of you know, I have a nine to five and at times it can be rough. To be able to come home, and do something I actually love, is the best medicine. This blog has serves as an outlet for me, and is becoming one of my favorite pastimes. I honestly don’t think of this as a job, it is really the best hobby ever. Okay, I’m done venting, and thanks for listening.

I hope you all had an amazing Independence Day! In honor of one of my favorite holidays, here is some red, white, and blue.

Hi Friends!

Lately, I had been on the hunt for a new bible. The past couple of years I had been just using my bible app to follow along in church. One morning while doing my daily devotions I needed to look up scripture, when I went to my phone to find what I was studying, I got side tracked and ended up spending the next 15 minutes on Instagram and Snapchat. Once I came to, I decided that I need to have a bible I can touch with my hands, and leave technology out of my quiet time.

The hunt was on! Of course, I can’t just have a regular brown, possibly leather bible. I needed something that I wanted to sit on my desk or leave on the coffee table. Don’t you know I found exactly what I was looking for.

How cute is this bible! I found it at Barnes and Noble, while shopping I had a few other items I was trying to decided between, when I saw this, I put everything down and went right to check out.

Overall, my theory was right. I am able to have productive bible time when I don’t have any technology near me. I also helps to have a uber cute bible to study.
