I consider myself to be a fitness enthusiast. Lately, I have been going to the gym and working out more consistently that I have in a couple of years. I’ve made some small changes that have made such a big difference in working out regularly.

  1. Go to a gym near you. Weather you go to a gym that is close to your job or right up the street from your house you will be more motivated to go when you see in the gym on a regular basis. In the past, I was a member of a gym that was about 20 minutes from my house and was not on my typical route home. I would find myself making up every excuse as to why I can’t make the gym that day.
  2. Always keep workout clothes in your car. There has been many times when I was out running errands and had a little time where I could run and have a quick workout.
  3. Create a schedule. Making a schedule is a great way I hold myself accountable. For example I never have plans on Wednesdays, and I know not to make plans because I go to the gym right after work.
  4. Walk. If you feel like you don’t have time take a walk.
  5. Love you workout clothes. Every so often I like to update my workout clothes if you have great workout clothes and don’t use them, they will be wasted.

Hi Friends!

I am sorry I have been MIA this week. It has been such a busy week.

This outfit is perfect for those chilly days. Can you tell I don’t like to be cold? One thing I love to do is layer with light jackets in the spring. Typically,  I would start wearing this complete outfit then as the sun starts to warm the day, I remove the (faux) leather jacket and just wear the hoodie. If it is really hot outside, I would remove both jackets and just wear this super cute tee. I love army print. I think it is the olive green that gets me, it is one of my favorite colors to wear. Do I need to talk about these jeans again? lol Are you sick of them yet? Sorry not sorry, they are still my favorite.

Let’s talk about my hair, this is one of my go to styles when I don’t have much time, but need to do something with my hair. It is so simple! Do you all want to see more of my go to hair styles? Let me know and I can share them with you.

Transitional Spring Look

Welcome to March… turns out last night the Washington DC area had a snow storm (what fun!). Typically, this time of year we are wearing transition clothing for those chilly spring days. I am one of those people who needs a jacket when it is 75 degrees. With that said, I have to wear lots of layers in order to keep warm on those spring days.

This outfit is something I would wear on the weekends, notice the sneakers. I love this hoodie because it is just warm enough, but perfect when I wear a few layers underneath. In the spring I wear a lot of vests to also help keep me warm. Sorry for wearing these sneakers so often, but I am truly showing you all what I wear on a typically day. I always want to keep things honest and authentic with you all.

Hi Friends,

So sorry for the lack of post last week, I was under the weather for majority of the week. Which is how this look came about. I spent much of the weekend of the couch in these sweats. My little brother actually gave me these as a Christmas Gift. I wanted to go down a size and was on the hunt to exchange them. Turns out they are discontinued so I decided to keep them and I am glad I did. They are so comfortable and warm.

Fitness Check-in

Hello Friends,

Just like every other person on earth, I decided to get fit for one of my New Year Resolutions. Lately, I have been having such a great time working out. I am one of those people who enjoy working out, the endorphins you feel after that last weight and the since of accomplishment you get when you run for 30 minutes non-stop. It is the best!!!

Recently, I have changed my gym routine, for the last couple of weeks I have been solely been doing weights. Honestly, because my hair was straight and I refused to perspire with the hopes of making my blow out last longer, but I will save that for another post. Last week I started to incorporate cardio back into my routine (my favorite).  IMG_9429IMG_9462IMG_9468IMG_9489IMG_9501

Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing with you the shoes I have had my eyes on for the spring. Lately, I have been loving sneakers and more casual outfits. Don’t get me wrong I still love my dresses and had to add dressy shoes to the mix as well. If you can tell I am not into heels (well high heels). I have come to the realization that I like my height and I have to try to preserve my feet. Usually when I wear heels for a long period of time I get an ache in my foot for a couple of days. So, this year I packed up my highest of high heels and moved to more comfortable styles.

Army Brights

Again another outfit with sneakers. I can’t express to you enough how much I have been loving sneakers lately. I actually am looking into buying another pair soon. Just waiting for that perfect sale. By the way happy hump day! We are halfway through the week.

Outfit story: I have had this jacket since college. I wear if often and I still love it as much as I did when I first purchased. This shirt is from the Gap quite some years ago, I just recently started appreciating it for how great it is! It’s so warm and comfy. Here is the kicker. I found these pants from the thrift store! Do you all shop at the thrift store? I have since I was a tiny little girl. You can find really good deals. The day I got these pants, they were having a buy 2 get one free sale, I participated.

Hi Friends,
I created this collage on Polyvore, and now I feel like I should go shopping. I would actually wear all these items together, which was not my intention for this picture. 🙂 First, can we talk about these shoes! I saw them last week, on this blog and fell in love with them. I’ve never owned a pair of air max before, but they look so comfortable. I don’t know if I told you guys, but this summer I had been having issues with my feet, which has made sneakers my new best friend.
Recently, I’ve been seeing a few bloggers wear this adidas hoodie and I want one too. I actually love hoodies and recently got rid of quite a few, and would love to add this classic into my closet. The clutch and the jeans are basically staples in my wardrobe, I am always looking to revamp what I the items I currently have when the price is right.

Gym Time

Ever since I could renumber I have always had a love for being healthy and taking care of myself. Over the course of the years I have started and stopped so many work out regiments, that never seemed to stick. Until now, the longest I have worked out on a consistent basis was four or five months. Back in January Frank and I decided to get a gym membership to help get in shape for the wedding. I thought to myself it is cheap enough that if I don’t go on a regular basis it wouldn’t hurt so bad, but it turns out I love the gym. It is a great stress reliever, amazing for your health, and I love workout clothes. Lately, I have been going anywhere between 3 and 5 times a week.

Normally, I am a little high strung and I find it difficult to relax. I have no idea why and I think I have been like this my entire life. When I feel like I have a lot going on, which is usually always, I try to find things that calm me down. Working out dosen’t exactly calm me down but, it does help me to relive stress. After my session, I’m usually clam and mellowed. It could be because I am tired, but that is neither here nor there.

Having a healthy lifestyle is extremely important to me. I want to age gracefully in a healthy way. To be honest, I love love love french fries and I could eat them every day. Not the most healthy thing to do, oh and ice cream, pizza, did I say french fries? Nonetheless, working out is so good for us humans. It keeps our heart healthy, keeps our blood circulating and other great things that someone with an MD could tell you.

Is it just me, but when you get home from a long day the first thing you do is find a comfy pair of yoga pants? I do! I whenever I am out at various clothing stores I always make a pass through the workout section to see if i can find any workout clothes on sale. Usually, I find really cute things for less than $10. Which is amazing!

ON THE MOVE!

If you read yesterday’s post you will know that I have made a commitment to work out on a more consistent basis. Growing up I was an athlete, I ran track and played volleyball. By the time I got to college I thought I was over it, but I found myself in the gym 3 days a week. Over the years that has QUICKLY changed. Being that I have to fit into a gorgeous white dress (in my opinion) in 5 months. So I decided to start working out again. Contrary to what some may think I have actually started working out in November, then stopped because I got my hair straightened… I know #dontjudge
For you ladies who have a big even you may want to look in shape for or just looking for motivation to working out. I will share with you what gets me moving.
I am not going to lie… I love workout clothes. I feel like a poser if I just buy workout clothes and don’t work out… so I buy super cute workout clothes to make me want to go to the gym. The items shown below can we talk about how cute those nike legging are? I am actually going to go find a pair they are so cute!
I may not have conveyed to you all how much I actually love work out clothes! Nike and Under Armour are my absolute favorite! Nike sneakers are the best, I do have some great running shoes but I wear the on casual day too. After making this college I will be looking for those nike leggings and I want a pair of those nike free 3. I love Under Armour too, if you have ever worked out in the winter you knot UA is a must!
ON THE MOVE!
I find myself as being one of those people who can not get anything done at the house. So getting a gym membership is my trick. I hate to waste money so I will feel a little more obligated to go if I pay for the gym. So a week ago Frank and I decided to get a gym member ship I have been there every other day since then. I have so much fun when I go. I have the time I need to clear my mind and not feel like my to do list is getting longer (Wedding planning!)
Happy Exercising!
