Hi Friends,

I hope you all had a great weekend. Honestly, I am shocked I was able to get this post edited and live today. Last week was such a crazy week. I felt like I didn’t even have a chance to sit down. I am glad to start the week off fresh.

On another note, lets talk fashion. This skirt I have been waiting to wear once stockings were no longer necessary. I wanted to pair it with a simple t-shirt and a denim jacket. There is still a chill in the air here hence the light jacket. Plus, I love denim with everything ūüôā

It is a cold dreary day here in the DC area. Most of the time you will find me in a trench coat to avoid the chill, but sometimes I just want to switch it up! Welcome my leather jacket. I get so much use out of it and it is really really comfortable. I really wish I would have shown you all a picture of this super cute shirt with out the jacket (it has flutter sleeves). Not to worry, I will bring it back out soon enough.

A leather jacket is a great alternative to wear when you just need something to throw on and keep you warm. I love the details of this jacket. Plus it is loose enough to wear a sweatshirt under it if you choose.

Stay warm today guys!

An Alternative to Sweats

Do you ever have those days when you just don’t really feel like doing much? I think I have them way to often. I just want to put clothes on my body and get the day going. Lately, I have been making an effort to avoid wearing sweats on those days, and going for a more put together option. Which is where the inspiration for this look came from. Here I am wearing a comfortable shirt and a pair of black pants (which feel like you are wearing leggings). It’s simple yet comfortable, perfect if you are running out of the door and don’t have that much time to get your life together (this happens to me way more than I would like to admit lol). When it does happen there is no need to run around looking like a hot mess. I know it is hard but, I am honestly say it takes the same amount of energy to wear this outfit as it does to wear sweats.

Happy Tuesday!

A major trend right now is bold sleeves, everywhere you look there is a large puff sleeve, or flutter sleeve, or even a large ruffle on the shoulder. Oh wait, even off the shoulder shirts (I forgot about that).  Nonetheless, sleeves are in. Okay, I am being honest, I am not super into the trend 100%.  I like it but not to sure how it fits with my style. I guess I am just different.

Here is a tip- If you are not sure about a trend, try it in a modest way. That is what I did here. The sleeves are not crazy overwhelming but they are still on trend. This will actually be super cute with a pair of shorts as well.

Hi Friends!

I am sorry I have been MIA this week. It has been such a busy week.

This outfit is perfect for those chilly days. Can you tell I don’t like to be cold? One thing I love to do is layer with light jackets in the spring. Typically, ¬†I would¬†start wearing this complete outfit then as the sun starts to warm the day, I remove the (faux) leather jacket and just wear the hoodie. If it is really hot outside, I would remove both jackets and just wear this super cute tee. I love army print. I think it is the olive green that gets me, it¬†is one of my favorite colors to wear. Do I need to talk about these jeans again? lol Are you sick of them yet? Sorry not sorry, they are still my favorite.

Let’s talk about my hair, this is one of my go to styles when I don’t have much time, but need to do something with my hair. It is so simple! Do you all want to see more of my go to hair styles? Let me know and I can share them with you.

Hi Friends,

In the spring and summer my family visits the Baltimore Flea Market and Bazaar (mostly for the food) but we always have great time. One particular time we found a stand that sold these dashikis. All the women in my family purchased one. I had mine stored in my closet for quite sometime. After I purchased these boots, I thought they would go really well together. It was actually a very comfortable outfit. The boots added that touch of something special ūüôā

Transitional Spring Look

IMG_9724_FotorIMG_9651_FotorIMG_9661_FotorIMG_9705_Fotor

Welcome to March… turns out last night the Washington DC area had a snow storm (what fun!). Typically, this time of year we are wearing transition clothing for those chilly spring days. I am one of those people who needs a jacket when it is 75 degrees. With that said, I have to wear lots of layers in order to keep warm on those spring days.

This outfit is something I would wear on the weekends, notice the sneakers. I love this hoodie because it is just warm enough, but perfect when I wear a few layers underneath. In the spring I wear a lot of vests to also help keep me warm. Sorry for wearing these sneakers so often, but I am truly showing you all what I wear on a typically day. I always want to keep things honest and authentic with you all.

Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing with you the shoes I have had my eyes on for the spring. Lately, I have been loving sneakers and more casual outfits. Don’t get me wrong I still love my dresses and had to add dressy shoes to the mix as well. If you can tell I am not into heels (well high heels). I have come to the realization that I like my height and I have to try to preserve my feet. Usually when I wear heels for a long period of time I get an ache in my foot for a couple of days. So, this year I packed up my highest of high heels and moved to more comfortable styles.

Gray Hoodie

Hi There…

I don’t mean to talk about the weather as often as I do, but I have to say, the weather has been so nice lately. Honestly, I can skip winter every year. How is the weather where you are?¬†img_9407_fotorimg_9373_fotorimg_9402_fotorimg_9327_fotorimg_9398_fotorimg_9341_fotorimg_9394_fotor

I have been wanting this hoodie for a while to wear with one of my leather jackets (outfit coming soon). I decided to keep my look simple today, because sometimes that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. There are a lot of times where I just throw on a hoodie and that’s my outfit. I tend to have more of a casual style, I love to dress up just like anyone else but when you just want to hang out and relax… all you need is a good hoodie. I was on the hunt for the perfect hood and decided to go with the H&M basic hoodie. I don’t shop at H&M to often but I love their basics. Have ¬†you all noticed there clothes are a little more true to size, if not big. Once upon a time I couldn’t figure out what my size wore¬†in there for the life of me.
