First I love shopping at the thrift store. Often you find clothes that people have purchased and for one reason or another the item was never worn but given away.

Here are tips to make your experience great:

  1. When shopping at the thrift store be sure to look for brands you know last throughout the years. Some of my favorite brands are JCrew, Gap and Banana Republic. I live really close to Washington DC so finding these brands if fairly easy.
  2. Try to find newer pieces. If you find a shirt that is faded there is nothing you can do to bring it back to life.
  3. Shop in well to do areas. Going to the thrift store in more affluent areas you will be acquiring clothes from the people who have gotten rid of them.
  4. If you can find an item but you know you can find a similar item new for a smilier price I think it is better to just buy new. For example, I usually buy my basic shirts from target for about $5 I am not going to buy something like that form a thrift store.
  5. Go early in the morning. If you are looking for great items in good condition for a good price, other people are too. So beat them to the punch and get there when the store opens. You can always go out for breakfast when you are done.

HAPPY SHOPPING

Army Brights

Again another outfit with sneakers. I can’t express to you enough how much I have been loving sneakers lately. I actually am looking into buying another pair soon. Just waiting for that perfect sale. By the way happy hump day! We are halfway through the week.

Outfit story: I have had this jacket since college. I wear if often and I still love it as much as I did when I first purchased. This shirt is from the Gap quite some years ago, I just recently started appreciating it for how great it is! It’s so warm and comfy. Here is the kicker. I found these pants from the thrift store! Do you all shop at the thrift store? I have since I was a tiny little girl. You can find really good deals. The day I got these pants, they were having a buy 2 get one free sale, I participated.

A lifetime to Go

Hi Friends,

Yesterday, Frank and I celebrated our One Year Wedding Anniversary. We decided to keep it pretty low-key, and spend the day at the beach. Initially, we were going to go out for a fancy dinner, last-minute we decided… LET’S GO TO THE BEACH. As you know, I didn’t wear this super cute black dress to the beach, but I figured, if anyone has an anniversary or special event coming up, this will give you inspiration for your outfit of choice. When dressing up, I love to keep a classy look, all black is always so chic and you can never go wrong with it.
