My Weekend in New York

Hello Friends,

This weekend, Frank and I went on a couple’s weekend with some friends. We went to New York City, while there we decided to catch a few shows and take in the city. Here are a couple of shots and a few outfit post.  Processed With Darkroom

We decided to take the train to New York, which is something I’ve never done before. I have to say it was one of the most relaxing travel days I may have ever had. I have been on a train a few times, but taking it to the city alleviated so much stress. I would recommend it to everyone. Processed With DarkroomProcessed With DarkroomProcessed With DarkroomProcessed With Darkroom

After we got to New York, we checked into our hotel, which was right in the middle of Time Square. It was perfect, we walked pretty much everywhere. It was live, and there was always something to do. The excitement is what made the trip so much fun.

Later that night, we caught our first show, Ice Man Cometh, starring Denzel Washington. It was great, and fun fact, this was my first Broadway show and it was so worth it.

On Saturday, we hung out, did a little shopping and just enjoyed the city. We almost took a bus tour but we then found out the cost of the tour was inflated a lot, in order to give the salesperson an extremely high commission. It was odd the way it happened so we decided against it.

Saturday night, was the best. The moment I have been waiting for for so long 😉 Aladdin. It was so worth the wait. I loved it so much, a few years ago I saw Cinderella, and it was just as good if not better. The effects of the show were spectacular. If you have a chance to go see it, I give it two thumbs up!

A shirt dress, one of the most comfortable items in my closet. I have a few in my closet in different styles. They come in handy on so many occasions. I mostly find myself wearing them to work on a Friday.

I have this rule I follow regarding dress down Fridays. Do it with class. I like to wear more casual looks on Friday, but you will never see me wearing jeans. On those days when I just need something to work. I denim shirt dress will always do the trick.

Hi Friends!

Does this shirt look familiar to you? If not, check out this link so we are all on the same page.

I love mixing prints, and I have been so in love with army fatigue lately. It just goes with everything. Can I tell you, I’ve had this jacket since college. It has never disappointed me. Year after year, I always find myself reaching for it. It is just perfect because it adds a splash of fun to just about any outfit.

This year, I added this tee to my spring staples, and I have been wearing it so much. I am actually wearing it now 🙂 Nonetheless, it is a perfect tee that can be worn in so many ways. I wear it to work with a blazer and on the weekends with army fatigue jackets- lol. If you are looking for a great tee that goes with pretty much everything, you have to just try it on. I promise you will love it.

Weekend Recap

Hi Fashionistas!

First let me say sorry there was no post yesterday. I have been doing the most. Which means I have not been planning my time as well as I should be. To keep it really real, I have been watching Power in my spare time and I’ve been sucked in! No excuse, but I’m here now!

This weekend I had a blast! I went to a friend’s wedding and after a few of us went to the Baltimore Harbor and  hung out. I’m excited to share the day with you, I never take photos when I am out, typically I like to spend time with the people around me, but since I did this time I wanted to share them with you. img_0183-1img_0184img_0178img_0182-1img_0154

Transitional Spring Look

Welcome to March… turns out last night the Washington DC area had a snow storm (what fun!). Typically, this time of year we are wearing transition clothing for those chilly spring days. I am one of those people who needs a jacket when it is 75 degrees. With that said, I have to wear lots of layers in order to keep warm on those spring days.

This outfit is something I would wear on the weekends, notice the sneakers. I love this hoodie because it is just warm enough, but perfect when I wear a few layers underneath. In the spring I wear a lot of vests to also help keep me warm. Sorry for wearing these sneakers so often, but I am truly showing you all what I wear on a typically day. I always want to keep things honest and authentic with you all.

Hi Friends,

Happy Tuesday! This weekend was the first weekend since November where I didn’t have anything to do. It was AMAZING! I got my nails done and just hung out, made me feel like I was in my early 20s again. I miss those day, nothing planned and nothing to do.

On to the outfit. Originally, I was going to post this to Instagram, but the pictures came out decent enough to post plus this was a fun outfit. Do you remember that fashion rule… stripes and plaid look really  bad.

Perfect. Weekend. Outfit. This maybe the outfit I wear almost every weekend. It is so easy, warm, and comfortable. I really like mixing prints and textures, it adds flair to pretty much any outfit. You will never look boring when you are wearing mixed prints. One thing I really enjoy about fashion is that we can take risk and really anything goes. When I am gong for a comfortable look, one thing that always works for me is throwing on a scarf. Plus I am always cold 😉

Do you all have any signature fashion accessories that make you feel amazing? Tell me about it.

Hi Friends,

This outfit came together completely by accident. One day I started to get dressed and wanted to wear something comfy, in those situations a t-shirt and jeans is my go to outfit. Just to keep it real with you all, originally I had on flats with this outfit but it needed something else to add that “it factor” so I pulled these shoes out of the back of my closet and it was perfect! A cute outfit is born.

This outfit would be perfect for a date night or a night out with the girls. I just need for it to stop raining here in the D.C. area.
