Hi Friends,

Have you noticed anything about my background in the last couple of posts? You guessed it.  Lately, I have been taking my outfit photos inside. Guys, it has been so cold here. I think within the last month there were two days that were not below freezing. Hence, the indoor outfit photos. I really miss my outdoor photos and I can’t wait until I can get back outside again.

This dress, I love it. I was hunting through, TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack looking for this dress in black and I found it. I already own this dress in navy — clearly I love it. I’ve worn  it in this blog post as well as this post. I can’t express to you how perfect they are for the office. You can wear it with a cardigan, I love wearing button up shirts under it, oh and don’t forget blazers, they always work.

What is one of your favorite items to wear in the office?

Confidence in Black

Over the years I have been drawn to color –  the brighter the better. One of my favorite things to do Is mixing contrasting colors together. I get a lot of comments that they  would never have thought to wear that together (I take that as a compliment!).  However, in the past year or two, I have been loving more neutral colors. I find all black to be the opitaimity of chic! We can even see this throughout the years. One movie most fashionistas love, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” when she wore that amazing black dress and pearls. I do, however, consider myself a fashionista, but I actually thought that movie was boring.  I watch it for the fashions.

With black, by changing the accessories, you can create so many outfits that give you so many looks. You can have a sporty look when you wear an outfit with sneakers, then with the same outfit have an evening look with jewelry and heels (flats for me tho!).  I just love how versatile one color can be.

You can even transition it throughout the seasons. I love a simple black t-shirt in the spring and summer. A black turtleneck in the fall and winter has been a staple in my wardrobe forever!

Plaid

Happy Friday Friends!

This week has been a crazy busy week. I am sure you all noticed I had a difficult time posting this week. Just know, I am here today with an outfit that would be perfect if you work in an office setting.

In the winter I wear a lot of dresses and skirts, which means I live in tights and stockings. It is always fun to wear colored tights for style and to keep you warm. In my opinion it just add a element of fun to an outfit.

I found this jacket a few years back at Target but you can find the current season here. The plaid shirt is from the Gap (similar here) and my skirt is thrifted, but is  J Crew . I usually get my tights from Target which has an amazing selection of colors and prints.

A Pale Pink Blazer

Hi Friends,

Sorry there wasn’t a post yesterday, that was completely a mistake. That aside, I am here today with a new post 🙂  img_8748_fotorimg_8796_fotorimg_8805_fotorimg_8791_fotorimg_8800_fotorimg_8861_fotor

When I planned this outfit, I was going for a simple casual Valentine’s Day look. Once I saw the pictures I noticed that this would be a great outfit to wear to work, if you want to be festive on Valentine’s Day. Do you all do that? Sometimes it brings a little fun to what can be a monotonous work day. I am sure I’ve expressed how much I love leopard, it goes with everything and is hands down my favorite print.

These are my favorite jeans, and I found this blazer at TJ Maxx. This shirt was given to me by my little brother for Christmas, from The Limited which is no longer with us 🙁 I am sad about them going out of business, but glad I got this cute shirt at an amazing price!

Work Work Work…

Happy Tuesday!

I am sure many of you have a job where you have to wear business type clothes. I wanted to share with you all how I typically dress for work. Fair warning, I am being honest. img_8169_fotorimg_8121_fotorimg_8122_fotorimg_8125_fotorimg_8181_fotor

First moment of honesty… I don’t typically wear heels to work. I am sure I have made mention here before I have had a problem with my foot in the past and I tend to be more comfortable running around in heels. Unfortunately, it is not the most flattering in my opinion. I was going to wear them for this shoot, but I decided to keep it honest.

I like to shop at TJ Maxx because they have a lot of stylish options to wear to work. I found this dress in a recent trip. I also found some other items that I will be sharing in another post.

Where do you all shop when looking for work clothes? I need more options, if any of you have ever shopped TJ Maxx then you know it can be hit or miss.

Just add a Blazer

Yesterday was such a nice day here. It was in the 60s and I was loving it! It made me even more excited for spring!!

Today’s outfit is simple yet well put together. When you add a blazer onto a simple outfit it pulls it all together adding a touch of class and chic-ness! I promise you con never go wrong with this look. If you don’t own a blazer get one. Seriously, all I have on is a long sleeve t-shirt and boots. When you add the blazer voila! I found this blazer last year in Target, yes Target. In my opinion it is a dupe for the JCrew school boy blazer.

So let’s talk about this weather… it is so cold here! During this entire shoot I had to take some moments and warm up in my car.  Many of you know I work a 9-5, most day I am in outfits like these. Typically for work, I like to wear an easy dress and a blazer. I try to be as comfortable as possible, because I am running around all day and I get up too early to care about much.

Clothes Prep

I’m sure I am not the only one that has a problem getting out of the door for work on time. Have you ever had one of those days were you feel like you have nothing to wear? Well I have the solution and it’s 99% fool proof!

Get your clothes ready on Sunday night or the night before! It also helps to have backup outfits, just in case something doesn’t work out. For example, if you have that snag on your nail that rips your last pair of stockings, then you can wear your back up outfit. I really do keep my clothes on a garment rack in my room. It helps me to see what I have and what I am wearing through out the week.

Once I have implemented this into my weekly, and night time routine. I can get out of the house in 45 minutes, that includes walking the dog. Do you all have any tips or tricks to share to get out of the house QUICK? It also helps me to know what I am doing with my hair and makeup. I have a signature look, I wear to work almost everyday (unless I am feeling fancy). For the most part I like to have very low maintenance hair just to keep things on the simple side. Usually, I reserve the weekends to let my creativity show.
